Good evening and welcome along to live coverage of Mikel Arteta’s post-match press conference after Arsenal 2-0 in the Carabao Cup against Leciester City.
The Gunners boss handed record signing Nicolas Pepe his first start of the season in the third round tie at the King Power
However there was no room for outcasts Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi in Arteta’s squad, as well as Lucas Torreira, whose future is in doubt.
New signings Alex Runarsson and William Saliba were named on the bench for the evening.
Reiss Nelson rattled the crossbar early on while at the other end Bernd Leno had to be alert to thwart Kelechi Iheanacho. Pepe also spurned a golden chance after dallying on the ball.
Leicester also went close nine minutes before half time as James Maddison curled a fine effort back off the post and straight into the grateful hands of Bernd Leno as the first half ended 0-0.
The Gunners took the lead after some impromptu pinball in the Foxes box, Eddie Nketiah firing a shot off the post before the ball rococheted off the unfortunate Christian Fuchs and into the net.
Ayoze Perez headed wide form just five yards out as Leicester pushed for an equaliser but they were undone at the death as Nketiah scrambled in Hector Bellerin’s cutback.
The Gunners boss will be here shortly and our senior writer James Benge is on hand to bring you what he has to say via the live blog below.
