Matteo Guendouzi tipped for Unai Emery transfer

Matteo Guendouzi tipped for Unai Emery transfer might be in peril thanks to 40M Euros problem. Under Emery the young Frenchman was flourishing, while under Arteta, Guendozi did have some problems with the manager.

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi might be headed for the entrance – but the Gunners will need to make a sacrifice to agree on a deal.

Matteo Guendouzi has been backed to quit Arsenal to meet up with former manager Unai Emery again at Villarreal – but he’s only likely to try to to so during a loan deal instead of a permanent switch.

Guendozi is on the market because the Gunners look to boost funds for Mikel Arteta to strengthen his first-team squad this summer.

Such is their commitment to doing so, Arsenal have made 55 members of staff redundant, insisting: “It is now clear that we must reduce our costs further to make sure we are operating during a sustainable and responsible way, and to enable us to still invest within the team.”

They labelled first-team investment “a key priority” but they’re likely to possess to sell some players so as to further swell the funds available to the Spanish coach.

And Guendouzi is seen together who might be moved on, having fallen out with Arteta and not playing since mid-June.

The French midfielder angered his manager together with his fiery antics during a Premier League defeat to Brighton and he has been training faraway from the team having refused to apologise.

The stubborn pair have also butted heads before and it’s been suggested both want to ascertain Guendouzi moved on, with Barcelona and Juventus mentioned as destinations for possible swap deals.

But neither seemingly has the finances to satisfy the 21-year-old’s £40million price-tag – which is £32m above the fee Arsenal purchased the tenacious midfielder two years ago.

He was delivered to north London by Emery, who is now back in management at Spanish outfit Villarreal having been out of employment since being axed at the Emirates last December.

It has been suggested the previous Arsenal boss has made it a priority to bring Guendouzi to the province of Castellon within the current transfer window.

And European football expert Julien Laurens believes it’s very possible a switch could happen – although insists Arsenal would need to comply with a loan-to-buy type agreement because Villarreal wouldn’t be ready to meet their valuation of the France under-21 international. Asked if the move might be a loan instead of a permanent move, Laurens added: “I think that’s the thought .”

Arteta sent a not-so-subtle message to both Guendouzi and fellow outcast Mesut Ozil last month when discussing Granit Xhaka’s turnaround in form at the Emirates.

Arteta stated: “The challenge with Granit was to convince him that there was still an area for him here, that I had big belief in him which things can rotate pretty quickly during this industry.
