Arsenal in line to receive surprise windfall
Former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom is on the verge of returning to England, according to reports in Greece .
The 24-year-old is currently with PAOK but has been in talks with Middlesbrough regarding a €3million move to Teeside. Gazetta.Gr claims Akpom is eager to return home to England, and that PAOK Will grant that wish with a move to Boro.
The news will be well received at the Emirates as Arsenal are due to secure a figure in the region of £1million from the deal. The Gunners have a 40% sell-on clause that they negotiated with PAOK when Akpom moved to Greece.
However, the clause landed Arsenal in hot water with FIFA as they were handed a fine of 40,000 Swiss francs ($42,300) and warned about its conduct regarding player transfers.
