Mesut Ozil has named his all-time dream team, with only one former Arsenal teammate making the cut.
The German playmaker has spent the peak of his career at Real Madrid and Arsenal, playing alongside some of the game’s greats.
Since arriving at Arsenal in 2013, Ozil has enjoyed success in the form of four FA Cups but only decided to name one of his old Gunners teammates in his XI.
In a Q&A on his Twitter page, a supporter asked the midfielder to name his best line-up and his side was dominated by former team-mates from Real Madrid and the Germany national side.

In goal, Ozil selected Iker Casillas, with a back four of Philipp Lahm, Sergio Ramos, Jerome Boateng and Marcelo.
In midfield, Xabi Alonso and Santi Cazorla were paired, with an attacking trio of Angel Di Maria, Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of them.
As the lone striker, Ozil picked Karim Benzema despite having options such as current Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Germany’s all-time top scorer Miroslav Klose.
Explaining the choice of Ramos to a separate question, Ozil answered: “One of the best defenders ever. And a great character and friend as well.
The German was also asked about Arsenal’s opening game of the Premier League season against Fulham, and whether he would be invovled.
“I’m fit & ready and doing my best,” he answered. “Unfortunately it’s not in my hands to decide about the squad on the weekend. We will see!”
