Chelsea ready to end summer spend with final deal
Chelsea could bring their summer spending spree to a close.
Frank Lampard is keen to bring in a goalkeeper before the new Premier League season starts, and it looks as though Rennes’ Edouard Mendy is the target.
The form of Kepa Arrizalabaga was one of the biggest issues for Lampard during his first season as boss at Stamford Bridge, and Mendy could be brought in to get the best out of the Spaniard.
The Standard report that Chelsea’s spending will end after they land a goalkeeper, having already brought in Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva and most recently Kai Havertz.
