Juventus are reportedly interested, and there has been talk of a swap deal with Atletico involving Arsenal target Thomas Partey.

But Lacazette’s time in north London might not be over just yet.

Ozil sends message to fans ahead of new season

Mesut Ozil has revealed that he is back in Mikel Arteta’s plans for the new season with an upbeat message on social media.

The Germany international has been on the periphery for the last few months and was repeatedly left out of the match-day squad towards the end of last season.

His days at the Emirates seemed numbered when he was dropped, which he claimed was a result fo his refusal to take a pay cut.

Ozil, though, is still under contract and has insisted that he intends to see out the remainder of his deal which expires in 2021.

And he appears to have proved himself worthy of another chance. The 31-year-old was involved in a friendly against Aston Villa on Sunday.

“Season prep is still on!” he wrote on social media after the game.
