Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang compared to Thierry Henry after Arsenal goal in Community Shield

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been compared to Thierry Henry after another reminder of just how vital he is for Arsenal.

The Gunners were handed the lead less than 15 minutes into the Community Shield clash against Liverpool at Wembley thanks to the Gabon international.

Aubameyang sold Neco Williams a dummy before cutting inside and bending the ball into the far corner, out of the reach of Alisson, from the edge of the area.

Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison says that it was a mirror image of what Arsenal legend Henry used to do.

Aubameyang is still yet to sign a new deal with the Gunners with his contract only running until next summer.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Morrison said: “Arteta should be running now and getting that contract signed on the pitch.

“It is a fantastic finish. We talk about Thierry Henry and the similarities, but that is a Thierry Henry finish.
