Arsenal are now well on their way towards gearing up for the start of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

Having secured the signing former Chelsea winger Willian just over a fortnight ago, the Gunners are now poised to complete the signing of Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes. understands that a deal to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium is almost done, with only a few further factors of the deal to sort.

Once that deal is wrapped up, Arsenal are expected to switch all of their focus towards getting a deal over the line for a central-midfielder, with Lyon star Houssem Aouar being linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal ‘bid’

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Arsenal made an offer of cash plus Matteo Guendouzi for the 22-year-old midfielder last week.

The report claims Arteta is believed to be a big admirer of the player’s talents, and it was director Edu who made the offer verbally over the telephone.

It is also claimed that Lyon rejected the offer as they only want cash for the player and do not feel that they need to add an additional midfielder.

Lyon update

Lyon sporting director Juninho confirmed after the club’s Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich that there will be departures this summer.
