Arsenal vs Liverpool Community Shield plans rocked as four stars quarantined

Arsenal will reportedly be without four players for Saturday’s Community Shield against Liverpool as Gunners stars need to quarantine.

Mikel Arteta’s side will meet the Reds at Wembley less than a month after being victorious under the arch in the FA Cup final.

But Arteta is having to work out his team selection with reports suggesting that he will be without up to four players.

A number of Gunners stars are having to quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic having spent their holidays abroad.

One of those is goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who impressed during Bernd Leno’s injury, with the Argentine having been in Portugal.

He is free to play on Saturday though may find he has lost his place to the now-fit Leno with Martinez having returned late to pre-season training.

The Sun claim that imminent signing Gabriel Magalhaes is also having to self-isolate with a deal with Lille believed to be close.

Two more unnamed players are also self-isolating, according to the Daily Mail, with Arteta admitting “it’s not an ideal moment to play”.
