Good evening, Arsenal fans. Here are your evening headlines for Thursday, August 27.

Arteta offers Gabriel Magalhaes update

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has provided a key update on the Gunners’ pursuit of Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

The 25-year old has reportedly completed a medical at the club, with a £25 million agreed with the Ligue 1 side earlier this week.

However, despite the deal being close to completion, Arteta confirmed the Brazilian centre-back is not yet an Arsenal player.

“Regarding Gabriel we cannot announce the deal yet, it’s not finalised,” Arteta said in his press conference ahead of the Community Shield.
