Mohamed Elneny appears to have enjoyed being back in Arsenal colours on Tuesday.
The Egypt international was playing his first game for the Gunners since May 2019, having spent last season on loan at Besiktas in Turkey before returning to the Emirates last week.
Yet he started in Arsenal’s 4-1 friendly win over MK Dons on Tuesday, scoring the opening goal in the fourth minute.
The midfielder subsequently revealed his delight at being back in an Arsenal shirt on Twitter.

He said: “Thought of scoring to show how much I’m happy to be back.”
Yet Elneny’s return to North London could prove to be short-lived, with Mikel Arteta keen to reshape his midfield.
Turkish side Trabzonspor, managed by former Chelsea assistant manager Eddie Newton, have been heavily linked with a move for Elneny in recent weeks.
The 28-year-old impressed on loan at Besiktas, scoring one goal and creating four more in his 36 appearances in all competitions.
It has led to interest from a number of other Turkish clubs, with Besiktas said to be keen to take him back on loan – yet a highly-publicised pay dispute seems to render that move unlikely.
Galatasary and Fenerbahce have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder.
