Atletico Madrid are ready to revive their long-standing interest in Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Spanish club attempted to sign the former Lyon striker three years ago but the 29-year-old was persuaded to join the Gunners by Arsene Wenger instead.

Lacazette started his Arsenal career promisingly, but has largely played second fiddle to the prolific Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who arrived just six months after the France international’s then club record transfer.

Atletico have kept tabs on Lacazette and, according to Marca, are ready to make a fresh move for a player who is likely to be sold by Arsenal this summer in a bid to fund their own summer spending spree.

The Gunners have already signed Willian on a free transfer from Chelsea and are closing in on the signing of Brazilian centre-half Gabriel from Lille.
