Arsenal ‘offered Thomas Lemar and two other stars’ by Atletico for Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal have reportedly been offered three players by Atletico Madrid as makeweights in a deal for Alexandre Lacazette.

Diego Simeone’s side have been heavily linked with the forward and, according to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, they are willing to use Thomas Lemar, Angel Correa or Vitolo to tempt the Gunners to let him go.

Atletico are desperate to sign a new striker, with only one player reaching double figures for goals in all competitions this season.

Alvaro Morata netted 16 in 44 appearances, while Diego Costa only managed five in 30 and has been linked with an exit.

Arsenal are interested in Atletico midfielder Thomas Partey but the La Liga side do not want to let him leave.

Lacazette did come close to joining Atletico back in 2017, with the club securing a verbal agreement to sign him from Lyon.

However, that move fell through when the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the club’s one-year ban on registering players and he joined Arsenal a month later.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has looked to blood young striker Eddie Nketiah since his return from a loan spell at Leeds and, if club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang agree a new contract, then Lacazette could find himself surplus to requirements at the Emirates.
