Manchester United and Chelsea have secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season, while Bournemouth and Watford have been relegated from the top flight.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side registered their highest finish in the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013 as a 2-0 victory over Leicester City secured third place.

Chelsea, meanwhile, finished fourth and secured the final Champions League qualification place with a 2-0 win against Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

At the other end of the table, Bournemouth beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park but it wasn’t enough to pull Eddie Howe’s men out of the relegation zone.

Watford will be joining Bournemouth in the Championship next season as they were beaten 3-2 by Arsenal on the final day of the season.

Aston Villa narrowly survived with just one point following their 1-1 draw against West Ham.
