Santi Cazorla reveals new club after leaving Villarreal

Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla will join Qatari side Al-Sadd after leaving Villarreal.

The 35-year-old made his final appearance for the Spanish club on Sunday evening and was given a guard of honour by the Villarreal and Eibar players after the full-time whistle.

Cazorla had indicated that he would be open to returning to Arsenal as part of Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff.

‘I don’t know what my legacy is [at Arsenal],’ Cazorla told Vamos in May.

‘You have to ask the fans, but I want to thank everyone.

‘I don’t know what I will do next, maybe a coach, maybe a sports director, but I would like to come back.’

But Al-Sadd have now confirmed that Cazorla has reached an agreement to join them.
