Dani Ceballos says he is ‘happy’ at Arsenal and remaining at the club next season would be a ‘good step’ for him.

The 23-year-old moved to north London on a season-long loan from Real Madrid at the start of the season and after a mixed start, has proved to be a key part of Mikel Arteta’s side.

Ceballos impressed in flashes under Unai Emery, but a hamstring injury in November saw him sidelined for two months.

When Arteta took over from Emery in December, the midfielder struggled to nail down a place in the team and was rumoured to be considering an early return to the Bernabeu.

However, since the restart, he has stepped his game up a few levels and been one of Arsenal’s most consistent performers in midfield.

Madrid are yet to make a decision on whether they want to keep Ceballos or not, but, the Spaniard admits it would be ‘easy’ for him to remain with the Gunners next season.
