What does the future hold for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang?
The Gabon striker has been one of the best goalscorers in the Premier League since arriving at the Emirates in the January transfer window of 2018.
And at a time when Arsenal have failed to qualify for the Champions League in each of the past three seasons, it makes you wonder where the Gunners would be without his goals.
Aubameyang has one year left on his Arsenal contract and there has been no breakthrough in negotiations over a new contract at the Emirates.

And with the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona linked with a summer move, speculation over his future is rife.
We take a look at the developing story on his Arsenal future below.
Aubameyang on Arteta
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said that Arsenal are already feeling the benefit of Mikel Arteta’s shake-up at the Emirates Stadium.
Former Manchester City assistant Arteta was appointed head coach in December, taking charge of his first game on Boxing Day. Though the result was a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth there were signs of improvement in Arsenal’s performance.
Those have also been reflected on the training ground with Arsenal players impressed with the shake-up at London Colney.

“We need to make sure, all of us, players and fans, that he has a successful home debut,” Aubameyang wrote in his programme notes. “He’s only been in charge for a few days but we’ve seen a bit difference already.
“We needed someone who would come in and shake the whole squad up. Someone with new ideas, with a new message and someone who would take us in a different direction. Mikel has brought all of that.
“We needed a fresh new start and something different and we can feel it already.
“He is very rigorous and demanding on the training pitch. It’s all about details with him so he talks a lot, repositions us, explains a lot of little things.”
Arsenal urged to sell Aubameyang
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher says Arsenal should sell Aubameyang.
“You look at up front and the age of Aubameyang, he’s got a year to go,” Carragher said on the Sky Sports Christmas Transfer show. “I wouldn’t be surprised if they cashed in on Aubameyang if somebody offered them big money
“That’s even though he’s one of the top strikers in the Premier League. They do still have Lacazette there also but it’s a big job at Arsenal.”

According to journalist Ian McGarry, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s representatives made it very clear to Arsenal that their client wanted to leave the club in January.
There is reportedly definite interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona, while Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud was ‘open’ to rejoining Arsenal.
