Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery believes on-loan Real Madrid midfielder still has plenty to offer to current head coach Mikel Arteta.
The Spain international was brought to the Emirates Stadium on a season-long loan deal last summer in an attempt to add some creativity to the Gunners’ midfield.
After joining the Gunners last July, the 23-year-old made a promising start to life in North London, featuring in all of the club’s first 11 Premier League matches this season.
But after suffering an injury in early November, Ceballos did not feature in the Premier League again until mid-February, by which time, of course, Emery had been sacked and replaced by Arteta.

Though that long-term injury lay-off hampered his progress, Emery still believes Ceballos has more to offer, even though he is poised to return to Madrid at the end of next month.
“Dani is a player who has excellent qualities and an incredible mentality, he wants to succeed,” Emery told Spanish newspaper AS.
“For Arsenal it was a great market opportunity. He played with me, then he was injured and he was out for a long time.
“He has recovered and now, when the league resumes, he will certainly demonstrate his qualities again.”
Meanwhile, Emery has opened up on how he has been spending his time during the lockdown period.
“At the moment, I am watching a lot of football, and the lockdown situation invites it,” added the former Gunners boss.
“More Spanish, I have to say, but I am not ruling anything out.
“I will be where they want me and they show it to me, where the project is attractive, to be able to be in Champions or Europa League, but I do not close the door to anything.”
