Moussa Dembele to Arsenal: Gunners join Chelsea and Man United in race for £73.6m striker

Lyon striker Moussa Dembele has been the subject of speculation both during and after the January transfer window.

The forward was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur said to be interested in the 23-year-old.

It is perhaps no surprise that the striker is attracting interest having scored 22 goals in 42 appearances so far this season.

But will Dembele get a move to England in the summer?

Dembele ‘agrees’ personal terms

According to The Transfer Window podcast, Moussa Dembele agreed personal terms with Chelsea over a January move.

However, Lyon look to have stood in the way of the striker making a winter move to Stamford Bridge.

Spurs are said to be eyeing a possible move for Dembele after learning of the severity of Harry Kane’s hamstring injury.

Kane is has been out for a while after surgery on his hamstring injury, ruling him out for a few months.

Frank Lampard has distanced himself and Chelsea with a move for Dembele.

The Blues were the side most strongly linked with a move for the Frenchman, but it appears he is not one that will be making the move to Stamford Bridge, at least not yet.

Lamaprd was asked about Chelsea’s transfer plans during his press conference ahead of the game with Burnley.

He said: “I don’t want to go cut and dry on anybody [regarding Dembele], as I said to you, it is not one I am openly talking about. If it is a decision then I will be a big part of that decision.”

City, Newcastle and West Ham watch striker

A number of Premier League clubs were in attendance as Dembele scored his 12th goal of the season against Bordeux on Saturday.

According to the Daily Mail, scouts from Manchester United, Manchester City, Newcastle and West Ham United were all at the game as the Frenchman impressed in the 2-1 victory.

Replacement lined up

According to the Daily Mail, Lyon are targeting strikers Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi during the January window.

Should the deals be completed, it could pave the way for Dembele to move to the Premier League.

It seems as though there will be a lot of competition for his services should Lyon decide to cash in.
