Arsenal might be forced to part ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with his contract due to expire in the summer of 2021.
The Gunners striker could be placed on their transfer list to ensure that he doesn’t leave on a free transfer, with previous talks over a new contract failing to result in an agreement.
Although the 30-year-old has been heavily like to Barcelona in recent months, he is likely to prefer a move to Real Madrid due to a promise he made to his late grandfather.
He said earlier in his career: “Before he died two years ago, I promised him that one day I would play for Real Madrid.

“My grandfather was from Avila, not far from Madrid. It’s what I said to him.
“I know it’s not easy but it’s something I keep in mind.”
Those comments were made in an interview with AS while he was playing for Borussia Dortmund, and they suggest that he would consider rejecting a move to Barcelona.
Starsport have now taken a look at how the Gabon international would fit into Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI, with the 1998 World Cup winner said to be a fan of his talents.
Arteta remains keen for Aubameyang to sign a new deal at the Emirates in order to help him build for the future, as he stated earlier this month.
“We will have to do that at some stage before the end of the season for sure and we will see the intentions that we have (and) his intentions,” said the Spaniard.
“Where we are sitting in (the table at) that moment. I think it is difficult to predict that context right now.
“For me it is very easy. I want to keep him under any circumstances.”
