It could be a big summer ahead for Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta given his first chance to make his first real mark on the club in the transfer market.
Pep Guardiola’s former assistant has had to work with inherited players since becoming Unai Emery’s successor in December, but could look to build a squad in his own image once the transfer window re-opens.
With speculation over some of the Gunners most high-profile stars, Arteta could have a very different-looking side next season.
The January transfer window saw little movement in terms of arrivals and departures, with Pablo Marí from Flamengo and Cedric Soares on loan from Southampton, joining to bolster the defence while Eddie Nketiah was recalled from his loan at Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United.
There’s plenty of speculation and names that have been suggested, and we’ve gathered the latest for you.

Real Madrid eye Aubameyang swap deal
The Daily Express report that Real Madrid are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.
The prolific Gabon international has been linked to a number of clubs this season, but Los Blancos are looking to get a deal done by using on-loan midfielder Dani Ceballos as a makeweight in a swap deal, per reports in the Spanish press.
Ceballos has struggled with form and injuries this season but had recently been welcomed back into the fold by Arteta and may have some part to play in Arsenal’s campaign going forward.
Blades battle Arsenal for Olympiakos midfielder
Greek outlet SDNA suggest that Sheffield United will compete with Arsenal for the signature of Olympiakos midfielder Mady Camara.
The highly-rated 23-year-old turned heads after featuring home and away as Olympiakos knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League, and Chris Wilder’s men are said to be considering a club record £23m transfer this summer.
That could prove to be a spanner in the works for Arsenal, who had been linked with Camara earlier in the month.
Wolves stalwart makes Gunners revelation
Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back Matt Doherty recently admitted that he grew up supporting Arsenal, per Birmingham Live.
The Republic of Ireland international, who scored as Wolves beat Arsenal 3-1 last season, was giving a fan Q+A in which he revealed his favourite club and player growing up.
“I was a big Arsenal fan growing up, Bergkamp was my favourite player, I used to get the kits for Christmas,” he admitted.
“Even now, I look out for their results and now I get to play and score against them, which is unbelievable.”
