Arsenal are ready to sign defender Pablo Mari permanently, it’s claimed.
The Gunners drafted in the 26-year-old from Brazilian outfit Flamengo in January.
However, he’s still yet to feature for Mikel Arteta’s side as performances steadily improve under the Spaniard.
Arteta has reportedly already made a big call over Mari, though.
According to Coluna do Fla , Arsenal have told Flamengo they’re ready to make the move permanent. It’s suggested a deal worth £13.5m in total is on the cards.
Arsenal have already handed over a £4m loan fee, which would be deducted from their final bill for Mari.
Mikel Arteta has helped Arsenal into a good run of recent form
Arteta’s men lock horns with Olympiakos at the Emirates tonight having won 1-0 in the Europa League first-leg in Athens last week.
Mari could feature tonight against the Greek heavyweights if Arteta rotates his squad.
The ex-Manchester City assistant manager insists the club is now back on the right path.
“Well a lot of things happen in two months obviously, in all different areas of the club,” he said.
“I think the team is progressing well.
“I think the club is looking in a better place, I think we are getting much more unity in the sections of the club and we are getting a great energy back from the fans when we play at the Emirates and away from the Emirates, there’s a lot of positive things but there’s still a lot of things to do.

“A lot of things to improve, individually, collectively and as a club and we are in that process at the moment.”
Arsenal can qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning the Europa League or finishing in the top four.
Arteta was coy when quizzed about whether the later option is realistic.
“We need to win a lot of games,” he added.
