Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer fears

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted he needs to find a way to convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at the club.

Aubameyang shone again for the Gunners, netting twice during the 3-2 Premier League win over Everton.

It means the Gabonese striker is the league’s joint leading goalscorer, alongside Leicester star Jamie Vardy, with 17 strikes.

Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from the Emirates this summer with

believed to be keen on the former Borussia Dortmund forward.

And Arteta knows it’s not going to be easy to keep hold of their star man during the summer.

“Aubameyang is our most important player, no doubt the impact he has in this team,” Arteta said.

“We will have to convince him to stay with us. It was an incredible amount of work Aubameyang was doing.

“Before I took over I had my questions about him but he showed his commitment.

“I wanted him to show if he wanted to do it and do it physically.”
