Chelsea may not have signed any players for the first team in January, but they already have a big deal in place for the summer.
The Blues didn’t make a single signing last month, despite being linked to the likes of Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell and plenty of others.
Another player that was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Ajax midfielder Hakim Ziyech, who was also linked with the Blues’ Premier League rivals Arsenal.
And it has now been confirmed by Ajax that he will be leaving Amsterdam this summer to join the Blues.

The Morocco international impressed during the Dutch champions’ excellent run to the Champions League semi-final last season, and also impressed against the Blues earlier in the campaign.
Here’s everything that has been said during the transfer saga and what we know about the deal for Ziyech.
“Hakim leaves when a good club presents itself,” Overmars told De Telegraaf. “That happens, I think, because he is much more in the spotlight because of his great game in the Champions League than last year.
“Very large clubs are hanging around him.
“By the way, we promised Hakim a nice transfer on his arrival.”
Ziyech’s release clause
Given the speculation that Roma baulked at a €40m price-tag a year ago, many would have expected that figure to have increased by at least €15m following the season he’s had.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The latest reports from the Netherlands from De Telegraaf (via the Mirror) claim that the asking price for the attacker is in the region of £30m, with the player said to be eyeing a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Manchester United, Roma aswell as clubs in Germany and Spain are also said to be interested in the talented attacking midfielder and with 16 goals as well as 13 assists last season it’s no shock he’s a wanted man.
Arsenal may have been handed a boost in the race to land Ziyech.
Eagle-eyed fans on social media have found an old video of the attacking midfielder taking part in a Q&A with former teammate Justin Kluivert, where he revealed that it was his ‘dream’ to play for Arsenal.
Asked which club he’d like to play for in the future, he responded: “Well, I have two clubs. They are Arsenal and Barcelona. That is my ultimate dream.”
In the same video, Ziyech was also asked who his football idol is and revealed it is none other than Arsenal’s very own Mesut Ozil.
Could that play into a transfer this summer? Only time will tell.
A document purportedly from Arsenal detailing a bid for Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech had been doing the rounds on social media but football.london revealed it was nothing of the sort.
