Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka could become 8th player to swap Gunners for Man Utd

Manchester United are believed to be interested in making a move for Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

If successful, it would be the eighth time that a player has made the switch from north London to Old Trafford with Saka potentially following the same path as the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Robin van Persie and even George Graham.

Saka is into the last 18 months of his current deal at the Emirates with Arsenal keen to keep the 18-year-old at the club.

But Manchester United have been linked with Saka, who has caught the eye with a number of impressive displays during the current campaign.

The winger, who can also play full-back, has made 15 Premier League appearances this season while also impressing in the Europa League.

It’s perhaps no surprise that United are interested in the rising talent, but Saka would not be the first Arsenal player to move to Old Trafford.

The last to make the move was Sanchez two years ago. Sanchez had impressed at the Emirates but struggled at United and was sent on loan to Inter Milan in the summer.

Before Sanchez, it was Van Persie that made the switch with the Dutchman winning the Premier League in his first season at United.

Van Persie was the first to swap north London for Old Trafford for 25 years with Viv Anderson having previously made the move.

Anderson was Sir Alex Ferguson’s first signing as United manager and the former defender recently said: “I would never have left Arsenal had I not been offered a contract by Manchester United.
