Liverpool should let Adam Lallana return to Southampton in the summer.
That’s according to former Premier League forward Darren Bent, who reckons a return to the south coast could be on the cards.
Lallana cost the Reds a hefty £25m in 2014 and established himself as an important and well-liked played at Anfield.
But in recent seasons the talented forward has been ravaged by injuries.
His contract is up at the end of the season and Jurgen Klopp isn’t expected to renew it.
Bent reckons a link up with Ralph Hasenhuttl could be best for all parties.
“Southampton, I could see him going back there,” he told Football Insider . “I can see him going back to Southampton.
“The one that everyone says whenever you talk about a player dropping down is Everton but that’s not going to happen.
“Southampton would be perfect.
“He needs to go and start playing again regularly.
“He’s been a great servant for Liverpool, he’s won some great trophies there but he’s spent way too much time for someone of his ability not playing games.”

Lallana hasn’t played more than 13 Premier League games since the 2017/18 season.
According to Football.London , Arsenal, Leicester and Tottenham are also sniffing around.
Lallana might be viewed by Brendan Rodgers as a short-term replacement for James Maddison at the King Power Stadium.
The England international is still being chased by Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to splash the cash in the summer and the former Norwich man is his top target.
