Arsenal’s on-loan midfielder Dani Ceballos has explained that Unai Emery played a big role in taking him to the Emirates.
Ceballos headed to north London on loan from Real Madrid last summer, while Emery was still in charge of the Gunners.
Liverpool had previously been linked with a move for the Spaniard, who headed to the Bernabeu in 2017.
But it was the lure of Emery, who had shone with Sevilla in La Liga, that enticed Ceballos to Arsenal.
Ceballos told Marca: “That a club like Liverpool loves you is a pride, but my decision was to go to Arsenal because Emery grabbed my hand and told me to go together.
“Klopp is a great coach but you have to see the game philosophy of each team.
“Right now players of my philosophy of play wouldn’t fit in a team like Liverpool in the best possible way.
“But that you are related to the greats is because you are doing things right.”
Ceballos’ spell at Arsenal has not gone as hoped with the Spaniard struggling for minutes since the departure of Emery at the end of November.

“But it is also true that I like a stability in a club and I decided to stay at Arsenal, because they signed me and I want to restore trust because I think it is time to step forward.
