Arsenal have been tipped to make late efforts to sign Thomas Lemar before the January transfer window closes.
The Gunners are still looking to bring in reinforcements this month to help bolster the squad for the rest of the season.
Mikel Arteta has impressed since replacing Unai Emery as manager, losing only one game in all competitions so far.
He is yet to complete his first signing as boss, however, although Spanish defender Pablo Mari is closing in on a move.
Atletico Madrid winger Lemar is a player that has been linked with a move to the Emirates for a while.
The Frenchman has failed to impress since moving to Madrid from Monaco and is looking for a way out of the club.
Any deal involving the midfielder would also likely be a loan with the option of making the transfer permanent in the summer.
And former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop believes Lemar would be a good addition to Arteta’s squad at Arsenal.

“But [Lemar to Arsenal] makes sense, it makes sense in that it’s an option that you’d probably get at a reasonable price given his struggles of late.”
The Gunners put in another decent display in their FA Cup fourth round clash at Bournemouth on Monday night.
