‘Worrying!’ – The Arsenal fans fuming at reports over the Gunners’ stance on Patrick Vieira

Arsenal may have a former player in place as interim head coach, but they could soon have another former star as the successor to Unai Emery.

That’s according to reports in France, which claim that Patrick Vieira has been established as the favourite to become Arsenal’s next manager.

French publication Nice-Matin reports that the former midfielder, who was a member of the Invincibles team under Arsene Wenger, is viewed by the Arsenal board as the top candidate to replace Unai Emery, who was sacked by the club last week following a 2-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to the reports, the Nice boss has impressed the Arsenal hierarchy and is being seen as a serious candidate to become the next Arsenal manager, with Freddie Ljungberg currently in place as interim head coach.
