Matteo Guendouzi has said that Unai Emery is a “great coach” following his Arsenal sacking.
After 18 months in charge of the north London outfit, the Spaniard was sacked on Friday morning after overseeing a winless run which currently stands at seven games across all competitions.
Pressure had been building on the ex-Paris Saint-Germain boss for weeks with a number of supporters questioning his abilities to take the club forward and start challenging for major honours.
Guendouzi has made sure to stick up for Emery with an emotional social media post.
“Coach, thank you for all that you have done for me, I would never be grateful enough,” the Frenchman wrote on Instagram. “You made me grow up as a football player but also as a man.
