Arsenal handed boost in Dayot Upamecano pursuit after failed summer transfer bid

Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Dayot Upamecano, with RB Leipzig ready to sell the defender for a cut-price fee next summer.

Upamecano had been identified as a possible replacement for Laurent Koscielny – after the veteran centre-back joined Bordeaux – but Arsenal eventually had to settle for David Luiz.

The Gunners reportedly failed with a £55million offer for Upamecano back in August and the 20-year-old remains firmly on Unai Emery’s radar.
