Giovanni van Bronckhorst will spend the next few months with Manchester City during a sabbatical from coaching.

The former Barcelona and Arsenal left back is set to visit a number of clubs within the City Football Group to gain an understanding of the organisation’s model.

Sportsmail understands Van Bronckhorst’s short-term role in all sides of the business is similar to the one undertaken by Patrick Vieira after his retirement in 2011.
