Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage has questioned the motives behind potentially axing Maurizio Sarri from Chelsea.

The Italian manager remains an unpopular figure around sections of Stamford Bridge despite guiding the Blues to a top-four finish and the Europa League final, where they tackle Arsenal in Baku.

Savage highlighted the differences in opinion between Unai Emery and Sarri, with the latter expected to leave after Wednesday’s match despite, as it stands, having a more successful first season at the club than his Gunners counterpart.
